CVEA U16 Girls 2–1 Durham Johnston U16 Girls

What a game! What a performance!

What a team! Going into this County Cup tie, Durham Johnston were fancied by many to come out on top, particularly with CVEA going into the game short of a few players. But if there was ever any doubt about this group of girls, they answered it in the best possible way, with determination, character, hard work and an unbelievable team spirit.

From the very first whistle, the girls gave absolutely everything. Durham Johnston put us under pressure at times, but CVEA defended with real courage and never stopped working for each other. Every challenge was contested, every loose ball was chased, and nobody was prepared to give an inch. And then came the breakthrough.

The final whistle eventually brought huge celebrations, and rightly so. This was a performance built on determination, togetherness and belief. Against a side many expected to win, and with CVEA missing players, the girls showed exactly what they are capable of when they stick together and fight for one another.
