David Wooff

Building on a career in education spanning almost two decades, David joined the University of Sunderland in the summer of 2018 as a Principal Lecturer with a remit for Quality Assurance and External Engagement. Immediately prior to this role, he worked at Edge Hill University in a variety of roles including; Head of Initial Teacher Training Partnership, Validation and Standing Committee Chair and Secondary Undergraduate Year 3 Leader. After achieving Qualified Teacher Status David worked in a large 11-18 secondary school in St Helens, Merseyside where he held a range of pastoral and curriculum positions.

David is also an External Examiner for a range of Secondary PGCE Programmes at Plymouth University and the Lead Secondary PGCE External Examiner across the Secondary STEM subjects for the Bradford College / Bolton University partnership.

In a voluntary capacity, David held numerous positions within the Scouting movement over a twenty year period. He is a magistrate in the adult court and also an active Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
