Headline Figures 2019

  • Grade 4 or more in English and Maths: 61%, an increase of 6% from 2018
  • Grade 5 or more in English and Maths: 45%, an increase of 9% from 2018, above national average.
  • Progress 8: -0.29 an increase of 0.33 from 2018 (based on collaboration data(Sisra 2019))
  • Attainment 8: 42.3 an increase of 1 point from 2018
  • Percentage of pupils entered for the English Baccalaureate: 10.9%
  • Percentage of pupils achieving the strong pass for English Baccalaureate: 6% an increase of 1% from 2018

All headline results have improved from the 2018 results.

A higher percentage of students at CVEA achieved the top grades in both Maths and English (9-7) than national levels.

There were some excellent subject results...

  • Mathematics: achieved 21% 9-7 and 53% 9-5% which are both above national average. Pupils at CVEA made more progress in Maths than their peers across the country from their KS2 starting points (+0.15).
  • Spanish: achieved 35% 9-7, 64% 9-5, and 85.7% 9-4%, significantly above national average.
  • PE: achieved 24% 9-7, 82% 9-5, and 88.2% 9-4%, significantly above national average.
  • Geography: achieved 63% 9-5, and 75% 9-4, significantly above national average.
  • Physics: achieved 44% 9-7, 83% 9-5% and 100% 9-4 which are all above national average.
  • Design and Technology: achieved 60% 9-5, and 77% 9-4, which are both above national average.
  • Business, Health and Social, and Catering courses also achieved above the national average progress.

There were some outstanding student results...

  • Zofia Zatyczyc: 5 grade 9’s, and 6 grade 8’s
  • Tamsin McMann: 3 grade 9’s, 1 grade 8, 5 grade 7’s
  • Greta Kleinovaite: 1 grade 9, 5 grade 8’s, 1 grade 7
  • Niall Crammond: 2 grade 9’s, and 2 grade 8’s, 4 grade 7’s
  • Kristie Pattison: 2 grade 9’s, and 2 grade 8’s, 4 grade 7’s
