Year 7 students had the opportunity to visit the Nissan Engineering Day and took part in a tour of the plant to see how the Nissan Juke and the electric Nissan Leaf cars are built. They met senior staff, watched the production line staff complete a variety of roles and the robots fitting rear windows. The students then went to the classroom and raced against time to build a car, complete engineering and construction tasks a quiz about inventors and met Luke who had recently graduated from university as an engineer. Luke talked about his role in Nissan and post 16 career pathway options available for students who wish to pursue a career in engineering. We had a brilliant afternoon.
